If you’ve been following our Facebook and Twitter (handle: @Hotels4Hope) lately then you’re supporting my work! I’ll take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Robyn Ammon and I’m the Social Media Intern for Hotels for Hope. I’m a junior Corporate Communications major at UT, 21 years old and originally from Waco, TX (don’t ask me about David Koresh!) I am interested in a number of things – I love sports of all kinds, outdoor adventures, getting involved in way too many activities, fashion & modeling, and lucky for you- writing! An interesting fact about me is that I live in a sorority house where I share a room with 3 girls, a bathroom with 6! Yikes! We’ll get more into that later, but for now let’s talk about Hotels for Hope.
Why did you choose Hotels for Hope?
In my quest to find an internship, I knew one thing was for sure: I wanted to write and I wanted to work for a business that made a difference in society. I have had a number of jobs throughout high school and college, and oftentimes I felt like the work I was doing meant…nothing. It’s nice to work for a company that is teaching me about and incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility with business! It’s a neat concept and while your at work, it makes you feel like you are doing something good to help people in need (because you are!).
A day in the life of Robyn is like _______?
I am currently working 15 hours per week in the office side by side with our Marketing Director, Cris Mueller. I’ve been a part of the team for less than a month but I already understand why internships are so highly recommended (you learn A LOT in a short period of time!) Each day I update our Facebook and Twitter accounts and write for our blog. Right now we are working on a series of VLOGS (video blogs) so make sure and check those out! We have a lot of creative ideas in the works…
I hope you now have more insight about who is behind all of those Facebook posts and Tweets! Follow my work and participate in the Hotels for Hope conversation everyday!
